Sberbank is expelling its Crimean depositors to Ukraine
Sberbank of the Russian Federation refuses to return money to Crimean residents who were depositors of its Ukrainian branch.
Russian Senator from Sevastopol Olga Timofeeva stated this on the ForpostTV YouTube channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We have been butting heads for four years and sending letters to all authorities. Not even about the branches in Crimea, but about the citizens to whom Sberbank systematically responds: your deposits were in the Sberbank branch in Ukraine, we recommend that you go there and withdraw your money. In fact, the unity of the rights of all citizens of the Russian Federation is being called into question,” Timofeeva said.
She believes that Russia should open Sberbank branches in Crimea, despite the threat of sanctions
“We are seeing the aggression of Western countries growing towards us. Therefore, we do not need to try to act according to their rules. We must act as we see fit. We will determine the rules ourselves on our territory,” the senator emphasized.
