Western sanctions were clearly demonstrated to Sevastopol today (PHOTO)
Sevastopol, June 12 (Navigator, Egor Kagorov) - Today the 5th international festival of military bands started in Sevastopol. However, it can hardly be considered international now. The fact is that there are 7 teams among the participants, and all of them are representatives of the Russian Federation.
True, the geographical spread is quite large: Sevastopol, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kaliningrad, Vladivostok, Severomorsk.

According to the ideological inspirer and art director of the festival, Roman Markholia, “all Russian naval bands are represented, which gives the event a special patriotic sound.”
However, during the press conference preceding the start of the parade of orchestras, Markholia himself noted: “We were initially afraid that the sanctions imposed by Europe would greatly affect the course of the festival. Still, people were interested in exotic things - Turkish, Algerian musicians....”
Despite this, the audience actively welcomed the Russian musicians, accompanying their performances with applause.
“Sanctions were imposed against us, and these sanctions prevented guests from other countries from coming! But people will see and hear how wonderful the orchestras are in our country!” – said festival trustee Svetlana Ochkurenko.
It should be noted that this year the second (alternative) name of the festival, “Sebastopol Military Tattoo,” was abolished. The inscriptions on the posters of this event use exclusively Russian.
