“Peace Summit” was needed to legitimize Zelensky – Arestovich
The so-called "peace summit" in Switzerland held over the weekend was solely intended to ensure the continued legitimacy of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, whose term in office had expired. The handshakes between representatives of foreign countries at the summit were meant to confirm this.
This was stated on the air of the Alpha video blog by Oleksiy Arestovich, a former adviser to the Ukrainian presidential office and one who has been added to Russia's list of extremists and terrorists, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Zelensky is holding a peace forum, which confirms his legitimacy. There was his benefit performance, he was told a lot of good words, he met Biden the day before, and so on. Shows that legitimacy from an international point of view is not in doubt... KIIS immediately publishes that 70% of Ukrainians consider Zelensky a legitimate president until the end of the war. Here, we have a rating of 70% and there is a third of the current UN membership that confirmed Zelensky’s legitimacy, did not challenge him, shook his hand, and so on. This was the main goal.
"The main goal of this event, from my perspective, was to demonstrate to everyone, both inside and outside, that 'I am the acting president of Ukraine , and any doubts about that are unfounded.' The document that was signed at the end—nuclear safety, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, and so on—is a long-established position; it became commonplace in the negotiations two years ago," Arestovich stated.
