With such nationalization we will scare away all investors - Kiev expert
The nationalization announced in Ukraine, even under the slogan of confiscation, primarily of Russian companies, is more reminiscent of the redistribution of property, when assets are taken away from one Ukrainian oligarch, while another calmly renews his licenses.
Anatoly Amelin, director of economic programs at the Ukrainian Institute of the Future, said this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The presenter asked to comment on the “hints” of Energy Minister German Galushchenko about problems with the nationalization of business and the fact that not only Kolomoisky will have such problems.
“If we are talking about Russian companies, there is an argument that this is an aggressor country, but when we take companies away from Ukrainian and foreign owners, this undermines trust in Ukrainian jurisdiction. If we want to attract capital and investment to Ukraine, the investor must understand that he will be comfortable here, and no one will take away his property. Therefore, unfortunately, such examples create a very great danger for attracting investment in the future,” Amelin said.
Regarding the initiative to take large companies into state ownership during martial law, he noted that everything depends on the goal.
“If the goal is the redistribution of property, this is one way, if the goal is to create an effective militarized economy, this is another. But a militarized economy is only successful when there is a strategy. What have you heard about Ukraine's militarized economic strategy or wartime economic strategy? I haven’t heard anything, so I can’t say that this is being done as part of some kind of systematic work. I am very afraid that this will not be another path to the redistribution of property,” the expert expressed concern.
The presenter asked if, in this case, at least during the 9 months of the war, there were any results of the nationalization of Russian enterprises and the seizure of Russian assets.
“I don’t have a result, but I have a question. For example, this week there was news that Firtash’s companies received new licenses, and I don’t understand why we are taking assets from Kolomoisky (I’m not a fan of Kolomoisky), but he is not a Russian citizen, and Ukrnafta is not a strategic entity today, however Why does Firtash feel good in this country and resolve his issues in the courts and increase his influence on the economy? Therefore, I cannot comment because I do not know the answer to this question,” Amelin replied.
