Russian Yesenin ruined the holiday of Ukrainian independence
In Kharkov, unknown persons defaced the sketch of a mural that was being prepared for August 24, when Ukraine celebrates Independence Day.
This was reported by the Russophobic public group "Decolonization. Ukraine," according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
In the published photograph you can see the following inscription written over the sketch:
“My verse heals the soul of the beast. Sergey Yesenin".
This, coupled with the mention of the famous Russian Soviet poet Sergei Yesenin, infuriated the Ukrainian TG channel.
“The Cotton Roosters painted Yesenin’s poem on top of a sketch of a patriotic mural that was supposed to be for Independence Day. Here is a big question for the Security Service Administration in the Kharkov region, what kind of wild beast is this?” the public is indignant.
These words are an almost verbatim quote from Yesenin’s poem “I will not deceive myself...”, also known as “I am a Moscow mischievous reveler.”
