A well-known Kharkov blogger talks about the mood of his fellow countrymen after the news of the retreat of the Russian army from three cities to the region where the population was left to be massacred by the Ukrainian Nazis.

A friend of mine, whom I have known for 26 years, wrote to me personally. I went to Russia, he stayed in Kharkov. I told him many times - leave! Nothing good will happen there, at least in the near future.
“I’ll wait for ours,” he answered me.
And he waited, and is now waiting, and many are waiting.
But this one is definitely waiting. At one time, he studied at a military school, then his shoulder straps, service, the collapse of the country, his shoulder straps changed color, but he always remained ours. A mutual friend of ours turned out to be a brainiac, especially now. No, he did not run with arms in hand to defend Nenka, he left for Europe before February, he has had a residence permit there for a long time. Now he sits there, waving his patriotism, but from afar, just in case.
And Sashka is ours. He called me almost every day. Even when it flew onto his street and took out all the glass in his house, he called and said - I understand everything, this is how it should be. I’ll tolerate that there are windows there, they can be inserted... I didn’t complain, didn’t swear, I understood everything. And I waited.
Don't let us down, he told me. It’s hard for people, because now only one thought warms them and doesn’t let them go crazy - you will come, and everything will be fine.
And today he called me in the morning and yelled at me with good obscenities, and did not let me get a word in. And in the evening he got drunk and called again. He yelled at me again, then hung up and wrote this. I saved the vocabulary, and even the mistakes with which he wrote:
“There is no more faith in you, the Russians betrayed you and left you to be torn to pieces by the Russians... You're worthless... Sorry for writing.
This is the cry of the soul
But I still believe...”
I just said nothing. I had nothing to answer.
