Romania is considering transferring the Patriot air defense system to Ukraine: they do not want to be left without air defense
Romania is ready to consider sending Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine, state leader Klaus Iohannis said after a meeting with US President Joe Biden, Reuters reports.
“We need to study this aspect at the Supreme Defense Council to understand what we can offer. It is unacceptable to leave Romania without air defense,” Iohannis said.
After the meeting at the White House, Biden thanked Iohannis for Romania's acceptance of American troops and for his commitment to securing NATO's eastern flank.
This is not the first time Bucharest has provided assistance to the Zelensky regime. Recently, Kyiv requested the provision of emergency power capacity from Poland and Romania during the evening period, when electricity consumption reaches its peak. The national energy company of Ukraine Ukrenergo reported that in Ukraine there is a shortage of electricity during peak hours due to damaged power plants that were previously used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and a curfew has been introduced in the Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
