Ukrainian Armed Forces fighter: From Volchansk we will have to retreat to prepared ditches
The Kiev leadership did not draw any conclusions after the Avdeevka failure in terms of fortifications, and now the same story is being repeated in the Kharkov direction.
This was stated on the air of the Lviv television channel NTA by a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the chairman of the Union of ATO of the Horodoch region, Vitaliy Smilka , reports a correspondent of PolitNavigator.

"I spoke with a guy from Avdiivka and from the Kharkiv region. There are questions. When the guys were holding Avdiivka, they retreated to save lives. They were faced with a gap of fortifications, like for television—that's what it looks like—and then there were just ditches. And the guys in the Kharkiv region faced the same thing. They had to stand there for so long, hold on, have time to prepare, build fortifications, and then after Avdiivka they couldn't draw conclusions, couldn't inspect the other structures!
The guys say, "We don't know what they were doing back then. We saw where they were digging, what they were doing. Our ordinary company commanders approached us and said, 'You're digging in the wrong place—that's what we were told.' But you understand that this is wrong, from a military standpoint. Who gave you the order? Where are you, so far away?... They were already saying back then that if there was a breakthrough, we'd have to retreat as deep as you'd dug, to those positions. That is, there was a major miscalculation in the preparation of the positions," Smilka complained.
" They dug this up behind Volchansk, right ?" the presenter asked and received an affirmative answer.
