Karasev: The West realized that it is impossible to win against Russia
The West is increasingly inclined to a compromise way out of the conflict in Ukraine and is allowing Kyiv less and less of a role in this. Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the Vyshka channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"I see how the West's understanding of war—I would even say, the paradigm of war—is changing. They're no longer talking about Ukraine being ready for a major counteroffensive, reaching the 1991 borders and liberating territories , but at the very least, they're recommending more realistic military goals for Ukraine.
A new narrative is being asserted that it is impossible to win against Russia; the main task now is to prevent Ukraine from losing and to strengthen Ukraine’s deterrent capabilities.
In this regard, the conclusion is this: our Western military and non-military allies are increasingly inclined to believe that it's time to explore possible compromise options, possible diplomatic methods . The conditions for ending the war are, at the very least, ripe. There's the Swiss option, there's the Chinese option.
Zelenskyy himself acknowledged that, although Ukraine isn't under pressure from its Western partners, he senses an "atmosphere of peace" from our Western allies. He was obviously referring to Antony Blinken's recent visit. "Our leadership is somewhat disappointed by this visit ," Karasev concluded the political week.
