Natalya Mosalskaya, director of the Sevastopol real estate agency Multidom, stated this on the air of the Sevastopol Information Channel.
“If we consider that in the previous calendar year 2014, real estate prices rose by almost 50% in dollar terms before the New Year. Because our sellers, as a rule, are those who go abroad, to Ukraine, have obligations there to pay their dollar loans, and strive to sell real estate in dollars. And our buyer is Russian and he has his income and savings in rubles. Today, you can see for yourself what the ruble exchange rate is. If you multiply it by modern 65 rubles per dollar, then these are, of course, incomparable prices. Our customers from Russia say, if you make your dollars worth 40 rubles, as was before, then we will buy from you. Therefore, now, in general, there is a bargaining going on,” Mosalskaya said.
At the same time, she did not rule out that if the current “situation with the ruble, oil and foreign economic factors” continues, prices may still drop “by 25 or 50 percent,” however, expressing hope that “the situation will be resolved.”
