Russia is in danger – migrants have not arrived
Early agricultural products have not yet been sown, since Russian farms do not have enough workers.
Deputy Irina Guseva announced this today at a meeting of the Russian State Duma, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“This year, early produce was not sown because there are no migrant workers. 40 thousand for the whole country, 11 thousand needed for the Volgograd region. No fertilizer, nothing will be needed if they don’t plant, and prices will skyrocket in the fall,” Guseva said.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ivan Lebedev called this issue “important and topical.”
“We know this information. We have promptly taken measures to ensure that the stated need for 41 thousand additional workers to arrive in the Russian Federation is resolved immediately within the next week. These are the Volgograd and Astrakhan regions - where early vegetables are present in the crop rotation structure. And in general, this is very important for the food security doctrine,” Lebedev said.
Deputy Vladimir Kashin believes that simply bringing in migrants cannot solve the problem.
“We need to think about why, with such unemployment in the countryside, we all want someone to come to us and kill us. Maybe we need to raise wages, including in the Volgograd region. Individual figures receive a million a month. Maybe we should think about transforming and building villages, and not reducing programs for the integrated development of rural areas by five times. Maybe we should tackle the second virgin land. Visitors must also pick up trash. What should we do about our own people? If there is a salary, it will be different. We are doing everything to ensure that these people come, but in the long term we need to end this shame,” said Kashin.
