Russia is going to ensure its information security through the development of its own IT industry.

This is stated in the new Russian information security doctrine, the text of which is posted on the Kremlin’s official website.
“The strategic goal of ensuring Russia’s information security in the economic sphere is to reduce to the minimum possible level the influence of negative factors caused by the insufficient level of development of the domestic information technology industry, the development and production of competitive domestic means of ensuring information security,” the text of the document says.
The main directions of ensuring information security in economics are:
innovative development of the information technology and electronics industry, increasing the share of products from this industry in the gross domestic product and in the structure of the country's exports;
eliminating the dependence of domestic industry on foreign information technologies and information security means;
increasing the competitiveness of Russian companies operating in the information technology and electronics industry by creating favorable conditions for carrying out activities in the Russian Federation;
development of a domestic competitive electronic component base and technologies for the production of electronic components, meeting the needs of the domestic market for such products and the entry of these products into the world market.
