Russia calls on the US not to launch a military strike on Iran
President Donald Trump said Americans managed to avoid casualties during Iran's overnight missile attack on US military bases in Iraq.
The head of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs, Andrei Kosachev, believes that it would be prudent for the United States to refrain from a retaliatory military strike against Iran.
“Well, the Iranian missile attack on two American bases in Iraq turned out to be no less delicate than the targeted strike on General Soleimani’s motorcade in Baghdad. 11-12 missiles out of fifteen “reached their target,” but there seemed to be no casualties or destruction. Even Trump thinks that “everything is fine.”
Let’s hope that Washington will now have enough common sense to focus not on a missile attack, but on the statement of official Tehran: “thereby the proportional response is completed.”

Military correspondent Igor Dimitriev, who worked in Syria, agrees that the Americans are unlikely to prepare a large-scale war.

The readiness to negotiate is confirmed by the restrained tone of the statements. While he is preparing an answer, democrats and pacifists will become active and tangle his legs.
