Russia is represented as a country of alcoholics, drug addicts and deviants in the Russian textbook for foreigners “Let's go!”, which is included in the top 10 educational literature, as well as recommended by Moscow State University and the Higher School of Economics.
Yana Lantratova, a deputy from A Just Russia, announced this from the rostrum of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“For example, law enforcement officers say that they always have no money, and their wife complains about their salaries. A university teacher writes on the pages of a textbook that he wants to change his job because stupid students do not listen to his lectures. It is only when he takes drugs that students say that his lectures are very interesting.
According to the authors of the textbook, life is hard for bandits in Russia: three pistols, they have to rest in Siberia. Deputies of parliament in the textbook say that they want to become football players, because everyone knows deputies and no one likes them, but everyone knows and loves football players.
Musicians report that their creativity is helped by alcohol and drugs, because their principle in life is: it is better to live less, but more interestingly.
In the textbook we learn that bandits want to become parliamentarians, psychoanalysts want to become terrorists, because they have heard a lot of people and are already tired of them. At the same time, everyone constantly drinks vodka and snacks on pressed caviar. And if not, then beer and pies,” Lantratova said.
According to her, the children in the textbook only talk about vodka and cigarettes.
“Russia is described by the authors in the following associative series: Dostoevsky - Pasternak - vodka - Brezhnev - pizzeria. “Hey, young lady, give me some vodka, pump some beer, cut some herring.” Colleagues, if you hear this quatrain, I have already introduced you to the authors of the textbook,” Lantratova said.
The author of "Let's go!" is a teacher at the Austrian University Stanislav Chernyshov, who lectures at courses for teachers of Russian as a foreign language at Moscow State University.
“The formation of a negative stereotypical image of Russia, in which residents are seen as chronic alcoholics, officials as bribe-takers, and teachers as drug addicts. An interesting image of the country is created: drunkenness, banditry and depression. After reading this book in our homeland, what kind of mood will foreigners come to us with,” Lantratova said.
She proposed to give a protocol instruction to the education committees so that they propose rules for testing, certification and regulation for textbooks for foreigners.
