Moscow and Minsk may have found new topics for mutually beneficial cooperation.

The publication notes that President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, as his press service reported, discussed by telephone with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin the issue of Minsk’s purchase of an oil field in the Russian Federation. This proposal, according to the Belarusian side, was supported by the head of Russia.
“This news, taking into account the fact that during the telephone conversation issues of military-technical cooperation (MTC) were also discussed, gives rise to some thoughts,” the author writes.
He draws attention to the fact that Moscow is building a system of military-technical cooperation with Minsk on obvious preferential terms, especially since Russia always has the opportunity to present its partner with a kind of bill for financing joint military programs and the construction of a common Allied army.
“To ensure that such issues arise as little as possible, both Minsk and Moscow are looking for and finding mutually acceptable solutions to problems. Lukashenko says Moscow is ready to provide him with a Russian oil field. But this is apparently very expensive. And in return, of course, you will have to give something. It is possible that Minsk will finally decide in this regard to give Moscow what it has been asking for for a long time - the placement of an airbase on the territory of the country, a kind of “Khmeimim” in the forests of Belarus,” Mukhin does not rule out.
