“Russia is us”: Farion demanded to rename the state

Ukraine must, through the Verkhovna Rada, rename Russia and regain the name Rus.

Former Verkhovna Rada deputy and nationalist Iryna Farion stated this on the Lviv television channel NTA, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Farion, the current name of the Russian Federation was allegedly stolen from Ukraine in 1721 by Emperor Peter I.

“The main theft that occurred in our history is the stolen name of our state. The historical name of our state is primarily Rus, although the name Ukraine was also used in parallel.

So, in 1721, Peter I stole our historical name Rus' in the Greek version. And this is still the name of this state. What does this all mean for us? That a resolution to change the historical name of this state – savage and barbarian – must be immediately registered in the Verkhovna Rada,” Farion said.
