Russia makes US missile defense in Poland useless
The artillery brigade stationed in Kaliningrad included a division of ultra-long-range Smerch MLRS, the launches of which cannot be intercepted by NATO air defense.

The publication notes that MLRS became a symmetrical response to the build-up of NATO power in the Baltic states and Eastern Europe.
According to the vice-president of the Academy of Geopolitical Problems, Colonel Vladimir Anokhin, the firing range of up to 120 km and the power of Smerch ammunition will make it possible to reliably cover the Kaliningrad region.
“All weapons systems in the range of the MLRS, which will be deployed against us on the territory of neighboring states, can now be quickly destroyed. And the US missile defense (ABM) in Poland will be useless; it will not repel the attack of the new MLRS,” the expert emphasized.
In addition, the publication clarifies, in the Kaliningrad region they plan to deploy the latest over-the-horizon radar station (radar) “Container”, which is capable of detecting the takeoff of aircraft, as well as the launch of cruise missiles or hypersonic vehicles at a distance of 3 thousand kilometers. The radar's operating radius will allow it to view the airspace of all of Europe, including the UK.
