Russia will itself build turbines that the West did not allow to be delivered to Crimea
Russia began independent production of high-power turbines, similar to those that it had to scandalously purchase for Crimean thermal power plants from the German Siemens in 2014.
This was reported by the publication "Metal Supply and Sales", as reported by the correspondent of "PolitNavigator".

The Power Machines company has completed the production of the first set of rotor disks for the GTE-170 gas turbine. To carry out this stage of work, the company purchased new equipment and carried out experimental work to develop milling technology with the participation of specialists from the All-Russian Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM).
The production of gas turbines GTE-65 and GTE-170 is carried out at the Leningrad Metal Plant "Power Machines". The project to create completely domestic gas turbines by Power Machines involves three production sites and 1645 pieces of equipment. The total investment in retrofitting production exceeds 4 billion rubles.
The government decided to create its own GTBM production in the Russian Federation after the scandal with the supply of Siemens turbines to the sanctioned Crimea in 2017. The Ministry of Industry and Trade has secured the allocation of 7 billion rubles from the budget, which should be used to develop two lines of machines with a capacity of 60–80 MW and 150–180 MW with an efficiency of at least 35%, which are still not produced in Russia. Some of the equipment must be exported. It is expected that demand will be created by the launched modernization program for old thermal power plants.
In the spring of 2020, Power Machines withdrew from a joint venture with Siemens.
According to the famous economist Mikhail Khazin, the Siemens turbines supplied to two Crimean thermal power plants (TPPs) were developed in the USSR and, among other technological innovations, were transferred to the West in the late 80s.
Russia will itself build the turbines that the West prevented from being installed in Crimea.
