The attempt of the Crimean branch of Radio Liberty, “Crimea. Realities" to make a sensation from the explanation of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation to the Reuters news agency about the accident at the Balaklava thermal power plant near Sevastopol.

Propagandists were not embarrassed that the accident happened already in August, after which the thermal power plant was successfully launched.

The presenter began to read out announcements from the Krymenergo website about planned outages, not bothering with the fact that Sevastopolenergo is responsible for the distribution networks connected to the Balaklava Thermal Power Plant.

In addition, a journalist broadcasting from Kyiv recalled that Siemens turbines were delivered to Crimea in circumvention of sanctions. The head of the Ukrainian Bureau of Integrated Forecast Analysis, Sergei Dyachenko, who was invited to the studio, began to assent and assure that without German supervisors, Russian power engineers would not be able to service the turbines.
The cards for information provocateurs were confused by Alexander Pasechnik, a specialist at the Russian Energy Security Fund, who, without thinking, the presenter decided to call.

“Each such complex unit has a chief engineer, without whom the entire commissioning process cannot take place. It could have been a representative of Siemens, but given our cooperation with the German concern and the internship of our specialists in Germany, I do not rule out that they could have launched it on their own using the patterns developed over many years,” Pasechnik said.

He assured that all necessary regulations were observed when launching the turbines. As for the planned outages, the Russian expert said they are related to the maintenance of power grids, which is always carried out on the eve of winter.

The beekeeper questioned whether the outages could be related to problems at the thermal power plant.

"What is the problem? There are working chains stretched from the Krasnodar region. Own generation will simply enhance energy security. There is no energy shortage in Crimea,” said Pasechnik, after which the journalist “Crimea. Realities” hastened to end the conversation.

The arguments of his Russian colleague apparently made a strong impression on the Ukrainian expert Dyachenko, who after that noticeably slowed down the escalation of passions. He admitted that it is difficult to call the planned shutdowns of Krymenergo a blackout, that the Russians would not launch thermal power plants if they had not eliminated all the breakdowns, and that the strength level of any energy facility is quite high.

“It is a matter of honor for the Russian authorities to establish an energy supply to Crimea, and this problem can be solved,” admitted Dyachenko.

As follows from the written commentary of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, during commissioning and purging of the boiler at the power unit of the Sevastopol (Balaklava) Thermal Power Plant in August, steam damaged the membrane coating of the roof of the main building.

The design of the exhaust pipe, which serves to remove steam from the flow part of the steam turbine, has already been changed after the incident to prevent damage during further operation.

The Sevastopol publication “Notes”, citing its sources at the Balaklava Thermal Power Plant, reports that the fragment of the roof damaged by the steam was so small that after commissioning the damage was not even immediately noticed
