Russian employers are required to accept and maintain Ukrainian work books of Crimeans and Sevastopol residents
Moscow - Simferopol, September 3 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Stamm) - The draft law on labor relations in Crimea and Sevastopol, which was introduced to the State Duma by the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs Andrei Isaev, obliges Russian employers to accept and maintain Ukrainian labor records . Labor contracts concluded at the time of the entry of Crimea and Sevastopol into the Russian Federation and later are also recognized as valid.

“In the text of the bill, we also answer the question of whether Crimeans and Sevastopol residents need to replace work books that were issued in Ukraine,” explains Isaev in today’s issue of RG. – There is no such need. We oblige Russian employers to accept and maintain work books opened in accordance with the provisions of Ukrainian legislation.”
But at the same time, says Isaev, the employee is given the right to replace the Ukrainian work book with a Russian one.
All employment contracts that were concluded at the time of the entry of Crimea and Sevastopol into Russia and in a later period are also recognized as valid.
“The law must be adopted promptly,” Isaev urges his colleagues. – We will try to do this in September in the very next few days. Perhaps in three readings at once, so that both employers and workers of Crimea and Sevastopol have an understanding of what rules they should work by this year.”
