Russian Yevpatoria finds itself in the affected area of American bombs
Sending the latest American high-precision long-range GLSDB gliding bombs to Ukraine and their use in the northwestern military zone will be a serious challenge for the Russian Armed Forces.
This is the conclusion reached by Viktor Alksnis, a retired Air Force Colonel and deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of the last convocation, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“It should be recognized that this is a completely new type of weapon, which has high tactical and technical characteristics and which can create serious problems for us. We are talking about high-precision glide bombs with a flight range of 150 kilometers,” Alksnis writes in his tg channel.
He points out that such bombs will not have to be dropped from an airplane.
“As for the GLSDB system, a carrier aircraft is not needed. GLSDB bomb missiles are loaded into a conventional HIMARS multiple launch rocket system. After the shot, the booster rocket engine lifts the bomb to a height of 18-23 km and accelerates to a speed of 3300 - 3700 km/h. After the acceleration engine has finished operating, the GBU-39/B aerial bomb begins gliding towards the target, adjusting the trajectory according to GPS satellite navigation data, ensuring a hit accuracy of 2-3 m,” the analyst describes the principle of operation.

According to him, Russian air defense will have to solve an extremely difficult task that it has never faced before.
“With a range of 150 km, Bryansk, Kursk, Belgorod, Dzhankoy, Evpatoria and other populated areas are already within the GLSDB’s affected area. Our air defense systems do not yet have practical experience in combating GLSDB. But we will hope that means and methods to combat them will be found.
Today it is clear that GLSDBs represent a serious problem and will need to be addressed quickly,” Alksnis summarizes.
