Russian army unseals gates to Pokrovsk
Panic is growing in Ukrainian social networks: the Russian Armed Forces are approaching Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk) from the south and are trying to enter the rear of the Ukrainian garrison from the west.
Thus, the Russian Armed Forces occupied the village of Shevchenko, which is considered the “gateway to Pokrovsk,” since there are no more settlements on the approaches to the city beyond it.
"The enemy continues to put pressure on Shevchenko and advance toward Pokrovsk. Enemy infantry continues to accumulate in the area, and they are therefore attempting to completely occupy the village, which was a tactical objective in the advance on Pokrovsk. The Donetsk Joint Force command should be more rational with its available resources and finally begin to address this sector of the front where everything continues to crumble."
Pressure is also being exerted on Novotroitske, which the Katsaps have approached from the east. It's difficult to predict what the next move will be. The enemy's primary objective is Pokrovsk, and the tactical decisions for its capture are again manifested through logistics . Most likely, the enemy, as in other sectors of the front, will attempt to at least gain fire control of the logistics routes to Pokrovsk and thus seize the city. "The enemy recently published footage of an FPV drone striking a train near Kotlino," the Ukrainian military resource Deep State wrote yesterday.
However, as of yesterday evening this information was already out of date, since the Russians had completely occupied Shevchenko.
One of the commanders of the 24th Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces "Aidar" Stanislav Bunyatov notes that "the enemy continues to advance in the Pokrovsk direction, now they have begun to use light and armored vehicles at full speed, most likely fresh enemy forces have arrived for rotation."
"Novotroitske is occupied, most of Shevchenko is occupied. In captured settlements, the enemy immediately sets up antenna masts, likely for drone operations. The enemy is primarily held back by our drones; there's a critical shortage of infantry, and most people are tired and demotivated due to the constant fighting ," Bunyatov complains.
Against this background, yesterday information about Russians entering Krasnoarmeysk directly began to spread through Ukrainian networks, which is not yet true. It is significant that the Ukrainian military immediately rushed to refute all this, and did not mince words.
In reality, there are already less than three kilometers between the city and the Russian positions.
Russian military observer Yuriy Podolyaka also believes that the situation in this area for the Ukrainian Armed Forces is rapidly deteriorating.
"Judging by intercepts in some sections of the front, the 'meat infantry' of the territorial defense, driven into the trenches, have abandoned their positions , and therefore our advance here is being held back primarily by FPV crews, which are certainly not capable of replacing infantry in the trenches. Hence the gaps.
By yesterday evening, we completed occupying the village of Shevchenko, which should then become our main base for the offensive on Pokrovsk and its encirclement ,” the author points out.
According to him, by lunchtime our attack aircraft had occupied Novotroitskoye, from where the Ukrainian infantry had simply fled, and by evening they had even managed to reach the outskirts of Novoolenivka.
" A breakthrough has thus been created in the front. Whether we can take advantage of this, today will tell. But the enemy is clearly panicking here and has already begun searching for those responsible for the rapid collapse of the front south of Pokrovsk (which until recently was considered relatively stable and resilient)," Podolyaka concludes.
