The Russian Federation will not assign UBD status to LDPR military personnel with Russian passports
LDPR military personnel with Russian citizenship will not yet be assigned the status of combat veterans in the Russian Federation.
This was announced today at a meeting of the Russian State Duma by the Chairman of the Defense Committee, Andrei Kartapolov, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Today, all military personnel of the Russian Federation, those volunteers, citizens of the Russian Federation who take part in hostilities are absolutely protected and are participants in the military military service, combat veterans. Military personnel of the armed formations of the LDPR today are military personnel of other states - subjects of international law recognized by us.
Therefore, recognizing them as combat veterans is not entirely correct now. Additional work is needed with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and an intergovernmental agreement. This work has been organized,” Kartapolov said.
The State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted a law recognizing combat veterans as participants in a special operation in Ukraine on March 23. At the same time, the question of assigning the same status to LDPR military personnel was raised. The corresponding bill was sent by the State Duma to the government on April 7.
