The Donbass republics were invited to submit an application to the Union State
The Republics of Donbass, as well as Transnistria, Abkhazia and South Ossetia could apply to participate in the Union State of Russia and Belarus.
The head of the Belarusian community of Crimea, Roman Chegrinets, announced this at a roundtable in Simferopol, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“I think Minsk will never remain, in any case, a negotiating platform. We need to decide more radically. If I were the DPR and LPR, I would consider the possibility of submitting an application, if not to join the Union State, and not to join Russia, then at least to receive observer status - there is such a procedure there. And with this we begin the issue of legalizing the people's republics.
We already see that the first stage, a rather strong step, was taken by our president, a decree was signed that the DPR and LPR received the right to work in the domestic Russian market in the same way as the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, to participate in state tenders, to have all the same rights and responsibilities , which have enterprises from Russia itself. This is a big step in order to strengthen the economy of the republics, and it is also a definite big call to all our geopolitical comrades that the issue must be resolved and not stalled.
And in general, the platform of the Union State in the future may become unifying, if indeed the integration processes now proceed and do not stall.
The next stage could be not only clear allies like Kazakhstan or Kyrgyzstan, less clear ones like Armenia and Uzbekistan, but also some unrecognized associations like Abkhazia, Ossetia, Transnistria and so on. In principle, this could become a certain platform for collecting Russian lands,” Chegrinets said.
The Donbass republics were invited to apply for membership in the Union State.
