Over the past 10 years, Russia has managed to update the production capacity of defense enterprises. Now they are gaining momentum in production and, ultimately, will be able to provide the army with everything necessary. The most important thing is that we managed to completely solve the critical problem with gunpowder for ammunition.
This was stated by the former head of Roscosmos, senator from the Zaporizhzhia region, Dmitry Rogozin, who is participating in the SVO, on the air of the video blog "Despite Censorship," reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
“Yes, of course, many of the capacities are outdated, but we have seriously updated the machine park and testing base. Starting in 12, this work continued for 10 years, and sanctions did not interfere. As for shells, a shell is not just an iron can, it’s gunpowder. Gunpowder is either cotton, cellulose, or flax. It must be grown, purchased, processed, prepared, and so on. That is, it takes time.
And, since, in general, as I understand, the Russian Federation was not preparing to wage a protracted war - they held parades, but did not seriously prepare for war, a certain shortage of ammunition appeared, which was felt in the last year, even more than a year - namely due to the fact that the industry had not yet developed, and, secondly, large reserves of gunpowder had not been purchased and prepared,” he noted.
“This problem has now been resolved. True, I am not at all ready to resort to some kind of alarmist or very Russian-patriotic phrases, assurances, promises, but I really believe that the Russian military machine, when it gets going, and it is getting started now, will provide the army with everything it needs,” - Rogozin said.
