Moscow – Kyiv, May 28 (Navigator, Mikhail Shtamm) – Russia is ready to respond to Poroshenko's proposal to participate in a discussion on the country's decentralization. Specifically, as Russian presidential adviser Sergei Glazyev told Kommersant, the example of Denmark and Greenland – a single state with two different trade regimes – could be used as a model for Ukraine's federalization.

Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation Sergei Glazyev, during a closed meeting of the Harvard Club that took place recently, said that the result of the will of the Ukrainians was “the legitimization of an illegal, anti-Russian and absolutely corrupt regime.” The second result of the elections is, according to Mr. Glazyev, “the legitimization of the split in Ukraine.” “Since Donbass did not participate in the elections, it does not recognize the person elected as president, which means that the resistance will continue,” the adviser to the President of the Russian Federation is convinced. “In Kiev they thought that with the help of elections they could ensure the unity of the country, but in the end they actually broke away Donbass from Ukraine.”

Nevertheless, as Mr. Glazyev told Kommersant, Moscow has specific proposals for resolving the Ukrainian crisis, primarily regarding decentralization and resolving the dispute about the optimal trade regime for Ukraine.

The advisor to the President of the Russian Federation cited Denmark and Greenland as an example of such a model. “This is one state, but Denmark is part of the European Union, and Greenland is not,” he recalled. “Theoretically, two trade regimes can be allowed within one country. This design may seem a little artificial, but it is possible. In any case, it’s better than war.” Sergei Glazyev expressed hope that “part of Ukraine” will join the Customs Union and then the Eurasian Economic Union.
