Razumkov chaotically explained that Donbass will not see elections
The Verkhovna Rada will not call elections in the Donbass republics in the foreseeable future.
Parliament Speaker Dmytro Razumkov announced this on the Pryamyi TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Razumkov, the fact that today the Verkhovna Rada refuses to hold elections does not affect the Minsk agreements, because Kyiv demands full control over the border before the vote.
“I do not agree with the position that we are talking about today, namely that today someone is trying to prove that this affects the Minsk process.” As of today, there are elections in the temporarily occupied territory, unfortunately, I really say that I am sorry that we cannot hold elections, just elections, because elections are a combination of many aspects. This is free access, this is freedom of speech, this is the opportunity to choose and be elected, the opportunity to campaign.
Elections are always a democratic process, and not the appointment of certain individuals to elected positions. Indeed, I believe that this cannot be done today. If we are talking about a resolution that was adopted, then the Verkhovna Rada announces elections no later than 90 days before they are held. This resolution is actually a resolution of one action.
We did not announce elections at all. Elections are a specific date in a specific territory. This is precisely the function that the Verkhovna Rada performed by announcing elections on October 25 on the territory of our state, local elections. And today to say that some points will contradict the ninth point of the Minsk agreements, I think, is not entirely correct.
If we are talking about the fact that sooner or later elections will take place throughout the territory of an independent, free state, the Verkhovna Rada will also have to fulfill its function and vote for the resolution to announce elections. I am sure that when the opportunity arises, the Verkhovna Rada will be happy to do this. If we are talking about the points of the Minsk Agreements, unfortunately, those eight points that precede the ninth point, which some representatives in the Trilateral Contact Group spoke about today, have not yet been implemented,” Razumkov said.
It is noteworthy that the Rada also refused to hold local elections in the Kyiv-controlled part of Donbass, which experts explain by the extremely low rating of the party in power in these regions.
