Razumkov: Russia can cut off Western Ukraine and get two more nuclear power plants
The Russian army may come from the direction of Belarus, but not to strike Kiev, but in order to take control of two more nuclear power plants and cut off the logistics of Western Ukraine from the rest of the territory.
This was stated on the air of the Lviv television channel NTA by the former speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, member of parliament Dmytro Razumkov, reports a correspondent "PolitNavigator".
According to the politician, this will lead to the complete collapse of the Ukrainian energy system and, as a result, the bleeding of the economy.
“If they agree to this, then according to my forecasts, they will not attack Kiev, they will try to cut off the logistics route from Western Ukraine.
But there are two more big risks that are not paid much attention to today. These are two nuclear power plants, Rivne and Khmelnytsky. They are also located very close to the border.
If they go, we see that they have occupied and are using the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant as a shield on the one hand, and, on the other, as a mechanism for influencing the energy system of Ukraine.
If they advance, I predict that they will select these nuclear power plants as attack points in order to capture them. Because the Rivne nuclear power plant consists of four power units: two of one thousand and two of four hundred and forty megawatts each, and the Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant is two power units of one thousand megawatts each. If, God forbid, we lose them, it will be a collapse for the entire energy system of Ukraine.
There will be no question of turning off the lights for an hour or two; for three or four, we will have no light at all. We won't have businesses.
And if there are no enterprises, then there will be no filling of the budget, and we will also not be able to exist all the time solely through the help of international partners,” Razumkov said.
