The Rada has returned to the initiative to put Ukraine under the hammer
Due to budget shortages, the Ukrainian parliament will consider a bill to unblock the " big privatization " that was suspended due to the pandemic.
Advisor to the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Roksolana Pidlas stated this during the conciliation council of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The Economic Development Committee joins the request to consider bill No. 4543 this week to unlock “big privatization.” At the beginning of 2021, due to the pandemic, we banned “big privatization” auctions because our hypothesis was that the value of assets would fall significantly during the pandemic.
But practice has shown that the demand for assets in Ukraine remains high. Last year, the State Property Fund privatized the Dnepro Hotel for one billion hryvnia. You and I started denationalizing the alcohol industry, and from this we earned one billion hryvnia for the budget,” she said.
Pidlasa emphasized that due to the weakness of the Ukrainian budget, it is necessary to urgently begin selling off a number of large enterprises.
“This practice should continue in 2021, because we have planned profits from privatization at the level of 12 billion hryvnia in the state budget.
You all know very well that proceeds from privatization finance the state budget deficit. And if they are less than 9 billion, we will all have to borrow more on the domestic and foreign markets. Therefore, the issue is urgent, the State Property Fund is already ready to begin preparations for the privatization of the President Hotel, OGKH and the Bolshevik plant as soon as bill No. 4543 comes into force,” the deputy added.
The Rada has returned to the initiative to auction off Ukraine.
