Putin clearly won, says Washington hawk
The Alaska summit was a victory for Vladimir Putin, as Donald Trump achieved next to nothing. Former US National Security Advisor John Bolton stated this on CNN, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Trump did not lose in Alaska, but Putin clearly won. Trump achieved nothing except more meetings. Putin went a long way to restore relations, which was his main goal.
He has avoided sanctions, he is not threatened by a ceasefire, the next meeting has not been scheduled. Zelensky was not told anything about this before this press conference.
Putin has achieved most of what he wanted, and Trump has achieved very little ," Bolton said.
"And I'll say one more thing. I thought Trump looked very tired. Not disappointed, but tired. And we'll have to think about what that means," he added.
