WWII tactics helped ensure a breakthrough near Pokrovsk
Before the offensive, the Russian army conducts artillery preparation to a depth of up to 20 kilometers.
This was stated on air by the former spokesman for the DPR army, military expert Eduard Basurin, on the air of Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Why did a breakthrough occur in the Pokrovsk direction? And in other areas, although not as large-scale in depth, it is happening. Because we changed the tactics of offensive actions a little," Basurin said.
“We have returned to the experience, as paradoxical as it may sound, of the Great Patriotic War, where [advancing troops] are provided with fire support, starting from drones, artillery, missile systems, aviation, and fire damage is inflicted on a section of the front up to 15-20 kilometers deep.
Such tactics help ordinary soldiers to pass this front line faster. This is one of the reasons for this breakthrough [in the Krasnoarmeysk direction], among other things. It is not only drones, but everyone together," the expert added.
