General Staff Colonel: Plans to go on the offensive have failed
Ukraine must accept the reality of the situation - it is far from regaining its lost territories, and last year's plans to switch from defense to offense have failed.
This was stated on air by Colonel of the General Staff of the Austrian Army Markus Reisner on the ZDF television channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“In the end, this is realism, when you understand that you are far from being able to return the occupied territories.
Let me remind you that in 2024, the Ukrainian government declared that it was a year of defense: “Here we are consolidating, here we are also arming ourselves with the support of our Western allies, so that in 2025 we can again move into a year of offensive.”
We're far from that this year. On the contrary, Russian troops are advancing, and they have momentum. We're increasingly seeing breakthroughs that could develop into breakthroughs.
And Ukraine, of course, realized that its main ally, the United States, was showing indecisiveness and was saying quite openly that this was no longer their war,” Reisner admitted.
