"This is not a breakthrough. It's called simply finally putting the situation on the map and suddenly everyone knows it. There are no 10 km breakthroughs there. The enemy has been trying to attack in this direction for many months, since March. And after the greenery appeared in May, it became more difficult for our drones to control the area. The enemy infantry was able to maneuver freely in dense forest plantations. Now, as of August, even fields are practically passable for infantry," Butusov explains.

According to him, in this area the Ukrainian Armed Forces “had problems with management and organization before, and now green stuff has been added and the work has become more complicated.”

He says Russian groups of up to three people are probing for battle formations and gaps in them – and eventually penetrating very deeply.

"Then a squad can be pulled in along this path, then another, then a platoon. And then the enemy consolidates and begins to expand this area," Butusov added.

According to him, this is an infiltration tactic that was used back in the First World War.
