Putin confirmed: the US and Britain are firing missiles at Russian territory
Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with foreign journalists, confirmed that long-range missile attacks on Crimea and other Russian territories are carried out by the British and US military, and only in some cases Ukrainian soldiers simply press the launch button.
"ATACMS – 300 kilometers. How are they used, how are they transferred? They transferred the missile system (the Pentagon did, the Americans did). But how is it used? Ukrainian troops can't do everything themselves and launch strikes with this missile. They simply aren't technologically capable of doing so. To do this, they need satellite reconnaissance, then, based on this satellite reconnaissance (and this is American satellite reconnaissance), formulate a flight mission, and then input it into the missile system. And the soldier who is next to it does this simply automatically – he presses buttons. He might not even know what will happen next.
What can Ukrainian military personnel be involved in? Not just those sitting there pressing buttons, but at a higher level—in target selection. They can say which target is a priority and necessary. But they don't decide whether to strike that target or not, because, I repeat, the flight mission is created and implemented only by those who supply these weapons. If it's ATACMS, then it's the Pentagon. If it's Storm Shadow, then it's the British. And in the case of Storm Shadow, it's even simpler. The simplicity lies in the fact that the flight mission is automatically implemented, without the involvement of troops on the ground. It's the British who do it ," Putin said.
Unfortunately, Russia is still only considering whether to carry out a symmetrical response.
"We're considering the fact that if someone believes it's possible to supply such weapons to a combat zone to strike our territory and create problems for us, then why don't we have the right to supply our weapons of the same class to those regions of the world where they'll strike sensitive targets in countries that do this to Russia ? So, the response could be symmetrical. We'll think about it ," Putin said.
At one time, the Russian Ministry of Defense promised to immediately begin the destruction of decision-making centers in Ukraine in the event of Western long-range missile strikes on Crimea. However, the central government bodies and senior officials of the Kiev regime remain unharmed.
