He stated this today at a meeting within the framework of the “Russian Energy Week,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"Why not. We buy everything that is useful to us. What do you think, will we only ride on carts or on tanks? The tanks are good. If I buy it, I will definitely declare it. I like these cars; they are responsive, nimble, fast and efficient. This is a good form of transport for cities,” Putin said.
According to him, he tried both Japanese, American and experimental Russian models of electric cars.
“An electric car is indeed a very environmentally friendly form of transport, but in order to connect to the electrical grid and power the battery, you need to generate electricity. And for this you need a primary source. In many countries, this primary source is not even oil, but coal. In this regard, I would like to note that gas motor fuel is more environmentally friendly than electric vehicles. With it, energy will be greener,” Putin said.
