According to Radio Prague International, the Czech Ministry of the Interior has launched a pilot project to facilitate the return home of Ukrainian refugees residing in the country under temporary protection status. The prerequisite is the consent of the Ukrainians themselves and their commitment to return.

The project is reportedly designed for several hundred people and will initially run from May to November 2024.

As part of the program, Ukrainians who decide to return can receive compensation for the cost of a bus ticket, and people who cannot travel by public transport and need special transport can receive specialized transportation.

Compensation is provided for 400 bus tickets and transportation by special vehicles for up to 30 patients. At the same time, as a kind of "stick," the Czech Republic is changing the terms of free housing for Ukrainian refugees starting September 1: for only 90 days, after which they will be required to pay.

It is reported that the Czech government approved this program in mid-May and allocated 5,5 million Czech crowns for it.

As of April, according to the Czech Ministry of the Interior, approximately 339 Ukrainians with temporary protection were living in the Czech Republic. The PACE Committee on Migration has decided to include in its upcoming report a recommendation to provide financial support for the return home of Ukrainians who fled the war.

In addition to the advantages for the local economy, the presence of such a number of problematic foreigners brings complications to the conflict-prone situation for the Czech Republic. So, just yesterday, a representative of the volunteer organization Prague Maidan reported an attack on Ukrainian volunteers in the center of Prague. The activist blamed the Russians for it.

In the video that appeared on the Internet, you can see how a woman, who was identified as a Russian, knocks out the phone from the Ukrainians, and also punches and kicks the volunteers.
