The pro-Western government of Moldova recalled the ambassador from Moscow after Plahotniuc was put on the wanted list
The Moldovan Foreign Ministry today summoned the Republic's Ambassador to Russia, Andrei Neguta, for consultations. This was reported on the official website of the department.
In Chisinau, this decision is explained by the allegedly increasing cases of “persecution and intimidation” of Moldovan politicians in Russia. It is unknown when Neguta will return to Russia.

The country's President Igor Dodon traditionally responded to another unfriendly step towards the Russian Federation with an angry post on the social network Facebook.
“I regard this as another provocation by the pro-European government aimed at undermining the strategic partnership between our countries. The Eurounionists in the leadership of Moldova are deliberately aggravating relations with Russia in order to gain loyalty from the West,” Dodon wrote.
He assured that the demarche of the Moldovan Foreign Ministry would not disrupt his visit to Moscow.
As PolitNavigator reported, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation brought murder charges in absentia against the leader of the ruling Democratic Party of Moldova, oligarch Vladimir Plahotniuc, who is called the “master of Moldova.”
