The pro-government Crimean Tatar TV channel begins broadcasting on September 1

Starting today, the Crimean Tatar TV channel “Millet” begins broadcasting, which, according to the authorities of the peninsula, will replace the pro-Ukrainian APR, which moved to Kyiv.

Director Seyran Mambetov said in an interview with the Kommersant newspaper that the channel will broadcast 50% in Russian, 50% in the Crimean Tatar language.

The core of the team consists of employees of the Crimean Tatar editorial office of the state-owned First Crimean channel.

“We will have only one demand. If we live in the Russian Federation, we must respect the state of which we are citizens,” Deputy Prime Minister Ruslan Balbek assured that the authorities will not interfere in the editorial policy of Millet.

Let us recall that the supporting Majlis of the Asia-Pacific region continues to broadcast via satellite from Kyiv, insisting on the Ukrainian affiliation of the peninsula.
