NATO check: Ukraine stole aid provided
Western partners ended up supplying weapons to Ukraine due to the high probability of them going missing and falling into the hands of ISIS terrorists.
Official representative of the operational command of the DPR Daniil Bezsonov stated this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He said that DPR intelligence had received information about active negotiations between the military-political leadership of Ukraine and the North Atlantic Alliance on the supply of lethal weapons and military equipment. However, the next stage of negotiations reached a dead end.
“As an argument, Ukraine’s partners report the results of inspections of the availability of weapons and property supplied to the country in previous years. Thus, as a result of the work of the NATO complex commission, carried out from May 16 to May 27, 2019, a shortage of more than 300 technical products was identified in formations and military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Of these, 230 AN/PVS-14 night vision devices, 29 AN/PVS-7 B/D binoculars, and 20 Thermal-Eye X320 thermal imagers worth more than a million dollars,” said Daniil Bezsonov.
He also noted that the next inspection carried out last week in the units of the 30th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces revealed a shortage of 4 more GPNVG-18 night vision devices, supplied in 2018 to the reconnaissance units of the formation. Moreover, all missing devices were replaced with Chinese analogues.
“According to the command of the verified formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they are not involved in the theft or substitution of property, and it was received in exactly this package from storage bases,” added the representative of the defense department.
In addition, according to Bezsonov, NATO representatives showed the Ukrainian side photo and video evidence of the discovery of part of the stolen military property from killed ISIS terrorists in Iraq and Libya.
As a reminder, Eduard Basurin, the official representative of the DPR operational command, previously reported that terrorists from the ISIS organization, banned in Russia, while serving in Ukrainian armed forces, were training Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel in the tactics of using attack UAVs.
