Chemical plants in Ukraine are still producing fertilizers because they purchased gas in advance while it was cheap, but they will soon begin to stop, as is already happening in Europe and China, and Ukraine will be left without fertilizers and will cease to be a great agricultural power.

The Chairman of the Council of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine, Dmitry Oleynik, reported this on the air of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Today chemical plants are operating. They declare that they plan to work in both November and December. As far as I understand, many enterprises felt these risks, and some purchased in August, others in September - at a price that was on the brink.

What if chemical plants shut down? Today we declare that we are a great agricultural power. We are a great agricultural power because we introduce new technologies, we use fertilizers, and therefore we have a good harvest. What if those enterprises that provide fertilizers stop?

A shortage of fertilizers is easily predicted in the world. European chemical production giants are stopping. There is a global struggle for gas. While China is winning this fight against Europe, China is charging more for fertilizers.

But chemical plants also stop there. It is easy to predict that today there is a struggle for gas, for fertilizers there will be a struggle in 4-5 months, and in six months or 8 months there will be a struggle for wheat or bread. With such a shortage of fertilizers, when production stops, the chances that the harvest will be smaller are very easy to calculate,” concluded Dmitry Oleynik.
