Forecast: The West will fight until the assets stolen from the Russian Federation run out
Ukraine is receiving aid only because Western countries hope to ultimately use these financing schemes to plunder frozen Russian assets.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the Politeka channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“This March, Ukraine received a record $9 billion in foreign aid. This is 4,5 billion from the EU, almost a billion from the IMF, one and a half billion from the World Bank, one and a half billion from Canada and some other little things. We received 9 billion, previously it was not enough, then, they say, it will be less, we understand that part of this assistance is loans, part goes towards repaying previously taken amounts.
For example, the IMF loan will be used almost entirely to repay previous IMF loans. It doesn't even enter Ukraine ; it's circulating somewhere else. But in Ukraine, they put a "plus" sign, like in a village store when they add goods to their list.
"Ukraine gets a plus sign in this regard because everyone hopes that through Ukraine, frozen Russian assets can be written off and plundered. That's why this scheme works," Bortnik explained.
At the same time, in his opinion, many in the West are no longer against playing “zero” and stopping the war even now.
"I'm often asked when the war will end. It will end (not only, but also) when Russian money runs out. The West is currently waging a war against Russia, both the West and Ukraine, using Russian money, against future Russian money . As soon as, say, the cost of the war crosses somewhere around 500 billion (not in terms of Ukrainian destruction; Ukraine's losses are Ukraine's problem), then Western financiers will begin to worry about the advisability of such investments.
The total cost currently stands at approximately 300 billion, with the threshold at 500 billion. Therefore, there are now statements and calls from all sides for a ceasefire and the need for a freeze. The West is not opposed to achieving a "zero situation" and balancing the balance of debt with credit by using frozen Russian assets ," the political scientist explained.
