If the Golan is recognized, will Crimea also be recognized?
By recognizing the Golan Heights as Israel, Washington has driven itself into a trap regarding the recognition of Russian Crimea.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There was a wonderful throwaway phrase said by the Secretary of State of the United States of America. He said, "Look, we're just recording reality." Now it’s clear, it’s completely obvious.
Firstly, they do not allow anyone into Crimea, they simply prohibit, intimidate, include sanctions lists, and so on.
And secondly, they do not allow Crimeans, for example, into Europe. Why? Because this will be a “fixation of reality,” which, according to Mr. Pompeo, should lead to automatic recognition,” said the speaker of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
