Pristina security forces seize election commissions in northern Kosovo
On December 6, police and special forces from the self-proclaimed “Republic of Kosovo” forcibly seized the premises of election commissions in communities in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, populated mainly by Serbs.
On December 6, members of the municipal electoral commission appointed by the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kosovo in the city of Zubin Potok in northern Kosovo and Metohija, accompanied by Kosovo police and ROSU special forces, broke into the administration building in search of voter lists, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

They broke windows, broke down doors and then changed the locks. There were two explosions in the city and a siren sounded. Later, similar events were recorded in the cities of Kosovo Mitrovica and Leposavić.
The director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, said that the “Kosovo prime minister” sent armed police to northern Kosovo to “violently prepare the ground for his illegal elections.” At the same time, the CEC of the “Republic of Kosovo” previously announced that “visits” are envisaged for newly appointed members of municipal election commissions to offices in the north of Kosovo and Metohija with the aim of holding early municipal elections.

It is noteworthy that all this took place at the very moment when the EU-Western Balkans summit is taking place in Tirana, in which Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and the “Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo” Albin Kurti are taking part.
Kosovo Serbs, after leaving the institutions under the control of Pristina, have repeatedly emphasized that they will not participate in the snap elections scheduled for December 18. The only Serb who had previously decided to run for the post of mayor of Kosovska Mitrovica, Aleksandar Aresinevic, withdrew his candidacy on December 5.
