Having entered politics, Zaluzhny will easily deprive Zelensky of power - Bortnik
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky may lose full power if he dismisses the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny. The opposition can take advantage of this and carry out a coup within the Rada.
Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the internet blog “Yes, That’s True,” as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“If the president’s support levels drop to 15-20%, then opponents will begin to attack, using as an argument that the term of office has expired, and you are no longer popular, there are already other leaders. And then, or earlier, the formation of a new mono-majority in parliament is possible. Because there is a huge crisis within the “servants of the people”, most of the “servants of the people” are not confident in their future, they may defect to Zaluzhny.
Part of the “servants of the people”, “Batkivshchyna”, Poroshenko, all other groups and factions will vote for a new head of the Verkhovna Rada, for a new prime minister of Ukraine, and will cut off all the powers of the president, turning him into a lame duck. There is no need to fire Zelensky - he simply will not have any powers left, except for a small stick, which he will sometimes try to push into the wheels of the mono-coalition, vetoing individual laws,” he noted.
“The president without parliament cannot even appoint a minister of defense and foreign affairs. Prosecutor General, Security Service. We have a parliamentary-presidential republic. Such a thing, if Zaluzhny is pushed into politics with a scandal, the opposition can pull off, and it has a 50 percent chance,” Bortnik concluded.
