Transnistria calls on WHO to calm down the enraged Moldova
The PMR Foreign Ministry asks the World Health Organization (WHO) to send a monitoring mission to the republic, which will give an objective and independent assessment of the actions of Pridnestrovian specialists in the fight against coronavirus.
This was reported by the First Pridnestrovian TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The statement by the PMR Foreign Ministry was a reaction to accusations from the Moldovan authorities of “incorrect tactics in combating the virus.”
“There is not a word of truth in such statements. They are also distinguished by their particular cynicism, because these are offensive statements that humiliate the dignity and professional competence of our doctors, who are on the front line of the fight against coronavirus. This is very narrow-minded, amateur reasoning,” said Vitaly Ignatiev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Transnistria.
According to him, recently the Moldovan side has been regularly politicizing topics related to coronavirus.
“We have the feeling that Chisinau is thereby trying to undermine the negotiation process and push aside pressing issues on the agenda. The Moldovan side calls for holding the next stage of negotiations in the “5+2” format. There can be no “5+2”. This is an international format. It is clearly regulated and does not work according to wishes,” the head of the PMR Foreign Ministry emphasized.
Earlier, Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Cristina Lesnic, said that the Transnistrian authorities do not want to create a joint working group between doctors to combat the spread of COVID-19.
“Both Chisinau and I personally have repeatedly offered the opportunity to hold a punctual discussion within the working group between doctors. This, unfortunately, was denied by Tiraspol. Today we are in a situation where we do not have this working group, and there is no desire to create it. These are speculations that everything is calm in the region, we believe that they are exaggerating,” Lesnik said.
