Transnistria will file claims against Moldova for aggression
Tiraspol does not rule out the possibility of claims against Moldova for compensation for damage from aggression against the people of Transnistria in 1992.
This was stated by the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky, who was quoted by the presidential website.
“No matter how much time passes, a criminal who kills a person must wake up in a cold sweat with the thought that they will come for him and he will answer for his actions. Our task today is not to lose memory. Almost three decades have passed since the war. A new generation has grown up. We need to remind you of the events related to the formation of Pridnestrovian statehood. We need to create an information field around our past, present and future. The platform is not so important as what information and how will be presented on it,” said the President of the PMR.
He believes that the events of 27 years ago need to be reminded to all participants in the modern negotiation process on the Transnistrian settlement.
“Those who were sent to slaughter must be separated from the Ilashku group, from those who shot civilians in Dubossary or from those police officers who shot at unarmed people on April 1, 1992 in Bendery. Those who shot Nikolai Ostapenko were awarded state awards from Moldova. They were elected in absentia to the parliaments of Moldova and Romania. There was an assessment of the “feat” of terrorist groups. We can't understand each other here. We have different heroes. They have those who committed crimes. We have their victims,” Krasnoselsky said.
He also recalled that during meetings with his Moldovan counterpart Igor Dodon, as one of the steps to normalize Moldovan-Pridnestrovian relations, he asked him to give a political and legal assessment of the actions of the Moldovan authorities in 1992. There is still no answer, the head of state said.
Ilie Ilascu – Member of the Parliament of Moldova (1994-2000) and Senator of Romania (2000-2008). During the Transnistrian conflict, he commanded the special sabotage group “Buzhor”, which shot at an official car with a firearm, in which there was a deputy of the Supreme Council of the PMR, commander of the Southern Defense Front of Transnistria Nikolai Ostapenko.
