Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, contrary to his campaign promises, is aiming for a second term and therefore wants the removal of Verkhovna Rada Speaker Dmytro Razumkov.
Vadim Karasev, Director of the Institute of Global Strategies, announced this on the Nash TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Zelensky is becoming a seasoned politician, he is aiming for a second term. He wants the team to be united and focused on his victory, so that there is no confusion and vacillation, so that they listen to him. By the way, anyone who thinks that they are being manipulated is an absolute lie. Zelensky himself is ready and knows how to manipulate people.
But Razumkov has a different line, that’s the problem. He will be recalled, because it is the same mono-majority that called him there, it can recall him. The President has the right to recall it,” he said.
In addition, the political scientist noted that Zelensky will not allow the Servant of the People party to split and some deputies to go to Razumkov.
“If Razumkov would like to have a separate political line and claim his own political career, and at the same time remain the main Verkhovna Rada, no problem, create your own faction.
Take the deputies from Servant of the People and convert them, let them say: “Now our leader is not Zelensky, but Razumkov.” But this is not the case, and the president will not allow it,” Karasev concluded.
As a reminder, Kyiv earlier announced that Volodymyr Zelenskyy was conducting a "public execution" of parliament speaker Dmytro Razumkov as a warning to all other politicians who think they can challenge the president's dominant role.
Furthermore, Kyiv noted that Verkhovna Rada Speaker Dmytro Razumkov spoke out against his superiors and, in defiance of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his team, sent the text of the "de-oligarchization" law to the Venice Commission for review.
