Albanian Prime Minister laughed at Prigozhin's death
During the Strategic Forum in Bled in Slovenia, Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama allowed himself to joke about Russia and the head of the Wagner PMC.
At the same time, the Albanian leader hinted at the involvement of the Russian leadership in the death of Yevgeny Prigozhin, the correspondent reports "PolitNavigator".
The annual Strategic Forum, which traditionally brings together leaders of Central and South-Eastern Europe under the supervision of the EU, was held in Bled, Slovenia. This year, during the event, its participants actively discussed the conflict in Ukraine and the expansion of the European Union. During one of the discussions, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama began joking about Russia.
So at the end of his formal speech, he unexpectedly asked a question to everyone present:
“I don’t know if you’ve heard that Russia wants to unify its time zones because the difference between the two ends of its territories is nine hours?”
After which Rama told an anecdote, which he considered extremely witty and topical:
“The Prime Minister goes to Putin and says: “There is a problem. My family was on vacation, I called them to say goodnight, but it was already morning for them. I called Olaf Scholz to wish him a happy birthday, but he said it would be the next day. I called Xi Jinping to wish him a Happy New Year, but he told me it was still the old year."
And Putin answers him: “Yes, this happened to me too. “I called Prigozhin’s family to express my condolences, but his plane has not yet taken off.”
European media report that an anecdote hinting at the involvement of the Russian leadership in the death of the head of the Wagner PMC caused a storm of laughter among those gathered. After which Rama’s “fresh joke” began to be hotly discussed in the media.
