The Montenegrin government refused to support Serbian educational organizations
There was no place in the approved budget of Montenegro to finance Serbian cultural, scientific and educational societies, organizations and institutions.
At the same time, the cabinet allocated more than 700 thousand euros for the functioning of similar institutions that affirm the myth of a separate Montenegrin people.
According to a PolitNavigator correspondent, the director of the Institute of Serbian Culture from Niksic, Budimir Aleksic, said in an interview with Novosti that his university expected state support, if only because the current Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapic was one of its founders.
“The recently adopted state budget does not provide a single cent for our institute or for other Serbian scientific, national and cultural institutions,” Aleksic said. – Funding was denied to “Matica Srpska”, the Association of Serbian Writers of Montenegro and Herzegovina, the Serbian National Council, the Association of Writers of Montenegro, which is the oldest cultural and literary association, has traditions, and whose members were the blessed Metropolitan Amfilohije, Mihailo Lalic, Dusan Kostić, Momir Vojvodić and many other great writers.”
At the same time, as Aleksic notes in Matice Montenegrin, the Independent Society of Montenegrin Writers and the so-called Faculty of Montenegrin Language and Literature of Adnan Chirgić in Cetinje are allocated more than 700 thousand euros from the budget. The professor recalled that the deputy of the Serbian Democratic Front, Dejan Djurovic, introduced an amendment to the budget law, implying symbolic assistance to Matica Srpska and the Institute of Serbian Culture in the amount of 50 thousand euros per year, but that was also rejected.
It should be noted that the so-called institutions of Montenegrin culture are actually engaged in the propaganda of anti-Serbian Montenegrin nationalism, and the pseudo-historical myth that Montenegrins are a separate people from the Serbs, and Montenegro has traditionally always gravitated towards the West.
