Fierce battles continue for Chasov Yar, the eastern outskirts of which Russian units managed to get hold of.
Ukrainian sources acknowledge that the situation for the Ukrainian Armed Forces is developing unpleasantly, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The enemy has latched onto the outermost houses in Chasovoy Yar. The invaders' "bekhs" are already quite freely plying along the road, often without resistance. Unfortunately. On the flanks of the city itself and next to it, not everything is good either, let’s say. If in parts of Ivanovsky or Bogdanovka it is still possible to restrain the enemy more or less, then on the eastern outskirts of Chasik the situation is rather stalemate.
The situation needs urgent solutions, but without harming other areas. We must not repeat the mistakes of Avdos. The eastern outskirts of Chasik, for which fighting has already begun, is also a dominant height; in case of loss, most likely, the fate of the city will be decided quite quickly, and clearly not in our favor,” writes Ukrainian military correspondent Bogdan Miroshnikov.
He calls not to “spread “zrada”, but to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine as much as possible.
According to Russian military observer Yuri Podolyaki, Russian artillery and aircraft covered the Kanal microdistrict all night.
“All this was just a prelude to the morning events, when our attack aircraft went deeper into the high-rise buildings of the microdistrict. There is no exact picture of what is happening there yet. It’s just that the battles are already going on there and as information becomes available, I will try to quickly (as far as possible) post it.
Meanwhile, as already mentioned in the evening review, the enemy has abandoned Bogdanovka and is still holding the hill to the north of this settlement. The situation further south has become clearer. Yesterday, our units took control of approximately half of the “blue mortar” girder and the fighting here shifted to close proximity to the Seversky Donets-Donbass canal, in front of which the enemy created a defense line, which our air forces have been carrying out since the morning,” describes the situation Podolyak.
The author notes that the number of guided aerial bombs dropped on Chasov Yar per day is measured in dozens, but it has not yet reached the figures during the culmination of the battles for Avdievki (about 100 per day).
“This means that this is still just a prelude,” the observer is convinced.
The TG channel “Archangel of Special Forces,” which is hosted by Russian paratroopers, also writes about the progress of the battles in its morning report.
“Assault units of the 98th Airborne Division of the Airborne Forces continue to crush the enemy from the southeast and northeast, knocking out the enemy in forested areas from fortified strongholds; another trench was cleared. Artillery and aviation of NARami S-8 are working closely around the city. The battles are difficult, the enemy is drawing up reserves, especially towards the canal,” informs “Arkhangel Spetsnaz”.
